I'm doing my research as well. I had a single in dual out Magnaflow muffler set up on my previous truck which was an 02 F150 crew cab. I had dual pipes exiting on each side of the tow hitch along with a stainless steel tip and it really sounded good. It was mild at idle but had a nice rumble as you drove.

I'd love to have a similiar set up on my 05 Expedition, but I can't seem to find anyone who has a dual out set up on an Expedition like my F150.

If you want a really nasty sounding muffler, check out Spintech. I have a 3" dual exhaust system on my 68 Chevelle behind a 600HP big block with dual 3" Spintech mufflers and my car sounds nasty as snot. I can set off car alarms just by driving by and my wife can hear me coming home from far away.

It can be done but not straight through like on F150...either real small pipe due to the suspension setup OR go to center of truck and meet at the pumpkin and out to each side...long discussion on this if u search dual exhaust or duals

Yeah I hear for duals you gotta remove the spare ... I'm just gonna go with a single exit

So here's my new plan/thinking... Might be pricing but whatever I guess...
I'll get the magnaflow catback and after the cats where the magnaflow muffler would normally be I will buy an aftermarket resonator and delete the muffler so it'll be almost straight piped while retaining the cats... Don't know how it will sound but my Reasoning is a buddy of mine with a 5.0 has a 3 in. roush exhaust on his F150 and it has stocks and only a resonator and sounds absolutely beastly

I can tell you how it will sound - "Red Neck Get R Dun". We have a few students with that "*******" sound on their lifted trucks. Blap-Blap-Blap-Blap. SLS (sounds like .....)
Just run open headers instead of straight pipes. Will sound better until your hearing goes....

I would not bother with buying a magnaflow and then fabbing in exhaust work. I would either get a catback and call it a day or take it to a good exhaust shop and fab from catback.

If you know what you want, a good shop will do it, and do it right. It shouldn't cost too much, if at all more than a catback. Less if you supply the muffler.

That being said, I've heard most stock catbacks flow pretty well these days. There should be loads of YouTube threads of 5.4 3v f150s with various setups that should help you ballpark a sound.

Lol stamp.... Ok so since I was planning on doing it quick I guess I'll stick to the magnaflow catback... I don't really need super loud anyways so that will be good... Should be a little louder when I get the k and n on and a slight tune

With "dumps" and side exhaust you usually see on trucks, under the bed. You usually don't see on SUV's due to the possibility of exhaust fumes coming into the cab, especially when you are standing still(stop light, traffic, etc).
