Not sure if anyone has had that break but I just did a repair on mine. I've seen a few videos where people have glued them back on but frankly that's a repair that will fail again. I'd recommend rivets, which I did, or tap some threads and screw it on. To remove the drawer you'll need a screw driver to press down the tabs (1) shown on the first image. Do the left one first, then the right one and it will come out. You'll have to press them again as it will catch on the front fascia of the dash.

I found the spring clip stuck on some wire behind the dash. I should have taken a before shot but where I put the rivets you'll see two raised areas. I'm sure this was simply plastic that was melted to hold it in place and it breaks over time. I drilled those out with 1/8" drill bit and installed 1/8" x 3/16" SS rivet. Its like new :)
