Change them before there's an issue. Bad plugs are the most common cause of dead coils. One coil costs as much as a set of 8 plugs.

Do you know the build date of your Expedition? If built on or after 10/9/07 you have a one-piece plug.

Wouldn't hurt to have the extractor tool by you while doing it, or a second source of transportation in case one does break and no tools to remove it

All 8

I waited until nearly 117K and broke all 8. I suppose each plug that breaks is a greater risk, so I wouldn't push it. Especially if you're not keeping the truck past the next plug change.

I'll also add that I was dreading it, looking for the best method (followed the TSB, but also used a light impact, and switched it to PB Blaster on the other side - none of this mattered), and actually using the tool was so easy I wish I hadn't wasted so much time trying to figure out the best method to get them out without breaking them.

Be sure when they break, they break off flush, and I wouldn't push the ceramic as far as recommended. I lost a strap in one cylinder and a piece of ceramic in the other, but whenever I left about 1/16" from bottoming the pusher I only broke one side of the ground strap and didn't lose any pieces. Pieces aren't good.

Regards,
******

Replace them before there's a problem. Besides plugs are not too expensive.

I sprayed Sea Foam Creep around each plug and waited 2 weeks before I changed the plugs. Each one came out without a problem. Perhaps worth a try

Yes just do it. In fact you're beyond what most Ex owners consider "late" worrying about hem breaking.

They're like $8/each. What's the issue?

Bro one motorcraft SP-515 plug is the same price as 6 platinum NGK's for my wife's car, **** never seen more expensive spark plugs in my life.

They're ~$9 each at both Amazon and Rock Auto. That's a bit pricey for what they are, but they're not even close to the most expensive plug out there. Regardless, the SP-509 is the recommended plug for an '08 Expedition and those are ~$8 each.

When I replaced mine at around 105,000 miles I began to add SEAFOAM & GUMOUT internal engine/injector cleaners every time I filled up. About once a week. The idea is that the cleaners SHOULD help by breaking up & softening hard carbon deposits on the plugs. I feel it really can't hurt and I changed the oil right after the plugs anyway.

Of eight only three broke. I had purchased the extractor tool from NAPA before hand for something like $70.00

It wasn't terribly bad. Removed all the coils and other stuff in the way one day & did the plugs the next & put everything back together. If I didn't have the health issues I do it would have taken me a lot less time...maybe three hours or so.
