I been lurking for a few weeks. The service dvd I bought has been useful. 2002 Expedition XLT 158k.

Passenger side near firewall is approximate source of coolant leak. Leak drains degas container. I can't find a routing or pictorial of coolant hose placement at firewall.
Where/how do I start to find leak? It's very congested in that area and tough to see.

Turn signals didn't work, so I removed cowl and found connector pins pushed out of connector. Tightened contacts and inserted contacts into connector. Seems that the contact retention into connector has failed at multiple locations. Turn signals now work.

But, upon cowl removal a Black/Purple stripe wire with a contact and plastic housing is now floating in air. It looks like it might fit into the hole and slot in the ignition switch base and possibly detect state of ignition switch. See attached picture.
There are other issues with BOB (big old beast), but the coolant leak is paramount... so far.
Thanks. GaryLoose wire.JPG

I would think the source of your cooling issues is more than likely the heater hoses that hook to the heater core going through the firewall
