Hi Guys,
My name is Dave, my wife and I just bought an 07 White Chocolate Expedition EL Limited as our 3rd car. We are getting ready to start some remodeling projects on the house, we both drive coupes, and thought we might enjoy the Expedition more than a pickup.
Truck has 134k miles. Has the Charcoal interior. Truck is in Good shape, not excellent.
Took it in today and had all the fluids serviced, and put in synthetic oil. Had a complete detail done. So now it's shiny.
Have a couple of small issues. I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the interior lights to work. Either they work as dome lights when the doors are open, or they work as map lights when you push the switch, but they don't seem to do both - which makes no sense to me at all. And neither of the visor lights work.
It has the factory Nav system, but no Bluetooth. I want to upgrade the radio with bluetooth and a back up camera. Not sure whether to drop in an aftermarket unit or look for a used Ford system with the Sync. -- Open to suggestions.
The headlights are mildly krazed. I own lots of acrylic fish tanks and I am pretty sure the lenses will not polish out. Both our other cars have factory xenon lights so the Expedition headlights are pretty dim in comparison. A quick glance online and there are a gazillion options. Since we are planning to hold on to this vehicle for maybe 6-12 months I am thinking maybe just get some new whiter bulbs might help.
The truck has the keyless entry. But the instructions say you need a factory 5 digit code to program. I have the folder of all the manuals, but didn't see the code listed any where.
We also only have 1 key. The manual says you need two to be able to add a 3rd key. So looking for the most economic way to get a spare key and fob.
I read about the fuel pump issues in the 07's. I plan to get that fixed before I get stuck. What else should I be aware of. I don't mind spending the money on pre-emptive maintenance to prevent getting stuck.
Anyway, thats my introduction. If you are in Los Angeles, a Ford nut and into Reef tanks, let me know, I have plenty of extra corals to give away.
And if you have the answers to any of my queries about our new vehicle, please feel free to send me the answers.
