It will reset the PCM

If your not getting fuel then check for voltage at the shutoff switch check input and output.

Check for fuel pressure at the fuel rail.

You could also try and spray some starting fluid into the throttle body to see if the engine fires up Just a little bit of starting fluid.

How did it get stolen? They could not start the truck without the original key. Or maybe they just towed it? Did you check if any part is missing? Check the pcm.

Man it's so easy to steal a car chipped or not. If he has the right programmer with him he can bypass the chip and smash the teeth in the lock cylinder and use a blank key to start the car. All this can be done in under 60 seconds if you know what you're doing.

Towed it from the rear, broke out the key cylinder, wouldn't start so they abandoned it on a vacant property.
Only thing taken were some old CD's that can't be replaced, and a can of Silicon Lubricant which they sprayed over the interior and exterior to cover their prints.

Did the battery thing,, didn't work. Have to try the starter fluid. I don't hear the Fuel Pump running , reset it but nothing happened. Just turns over, won't start!!

Again check for voltage at the shutoff switch you need to be looking at the voltmeter while someone tries to start the expy You should see 12 volts and if the engine doesn't start the voltage will drop off. If your not getting 12 volts at the shut of switch let me know

Check out this thread Post #7 (Watch the video) and post #12 although his is a 03 the 04 is the same

When you disconnected the battery you wiped out the ecu clean.

Understand this: a mechanical part fails gradually so that means it malfunctions slightly at first and gets worst over time until complete failure occurs.

An electronic part when it fails that's it it fails 100% the first time and only replacing it can repair it.

A fuel pump is a mechanical part. a fuel pump relay, the battery, the ecu are all electronical parts.

Go back to your first post, your answer is in that post.

This has happened to be on two different cars before... Both needed a new fuel pump.
