02 EXPEDITION ISSUES WITH DRIVER SIDE DOOR/POWER LOCKS AND WINDOWS

HEY GUYS, 1ST TIMER HERE.

I HAVE AN '02 EXPEDITION THAT I JUST GOT. LOVE DRIVING IT BUT IT HAS 1 ISSUE. THE ELECTRONICS IN THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR ARE ONLY HALF WORKING. I CAN LOCK ALL DOORS AND ROLL DOWN ALL WINDOWS EXCEPT THE DRIVER WINDOW. WHEN I TRY TO ROLL DOWN MY DRIVER SIDE, IT MAKES A CLICK SOUND BUT NOTHING HAPPENS

THINGS I CAN DO WITH MY DRIVER SIDE DOOR:
I CAN ROLL DOWN ALL WINDOWS EXCEPT THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR
I CAN LOCK ALL DOORS AT ONCE

THINGS I CAN'T DO:
I CAN'T ROLE DRIVER SIDE DOOR UP OR DOWN
I CAN'T UNLOCK ANY DOORS WITH MY DRIVER SIDE DOOR

ANY IDEAS???

How well can you troubleshoot electrical wiring?
Do you have any test meters?

Single power windows are inoperative

Circuitry.
RF, LR, or RR window regulator control switch.
RF, LR, or RR window regulator electric drive.
LF window regulator control switch.

The one-touch down feature is inoperative

Circuitry.
Battery saver relay.
CJB.
One-touch down relay.
LF window regulator control switch.
LF window regulator electric drive (23394).
GEM.

A single door lock is inoperative — driver door

Circuitry.
Driver door lock actuator.
Central security module.

Bedrck47 knows his stuff so the only thing I have to add is that I would start your troubleshooting with the window regulator as that is an incredibly common Ford problem.

Thanks for the info guys. When i try to use the window it makes almost like a clicking sound from the 3 relay. Is this a sign of anything? I checked all the related fuses and they are good, I plan on taking the door apart tomorrow to take a look at the motor and regulator.

Check the stuff above. My passenger side window was inoperable when I get the vehicle. PO told me the motor was bad. I replaced the regulator and the damn thing still doesn't work. passenger side switches seem fine. Hven't gotten around to chasing he drivers side switches yet. Just don't assume the regulator is bad.

Well let's try a simple old fashioned test. Pull door panel locate window motor, give it a light whack, preferably with soft hammer ie rubber/ compothane with pellets. Try window switch, if it goes down or up, bad motor. Also check power into switch, and up or down on window switch.Test light should light if switch is good. Drivers side window motors usually fail first, because of all the usage during years. I've had to replace window motors on every electric window vehicle I've owned. Once you get door panel off, you can use a battery and test leads, pull plug from window motor. Connect positive then ground for a second, window will move if good. Good luck, keep us posted.

Ok so I was thinking maybe it was 2 separate issues and it was. I replaced the motor to the window and it works perfectly. I had to drill out 6 rivets to get the motor out and then bolt it back to the frame using the same holes. Other then that it was pretty routine and the window works perfectly. I still have the power lock issue going on. I can LOCK all of the doors from the driver side door. When I unlock only the driver side door pops up. I cant even feel the motors try and work to pop them up. Sensor?
