In my opinion swap blocks. Stay with you stock harness and computer. There are only a couple of things different for the newer model.

Then talk to 5* about tuning. You would be tuning the older ecu for a newer block. Which would be cams and intake.

But the newer blocks have knock sensors... So I would ask about tuning. Ask first.

Good luck with it. I really hope it works out.

Can't you run your old heads and intake? You could pay a machine shop to redo your heads, cut valves and seats. That way all your swapping out is the short block. True it wouldn't be as fast as a three valve motor but everything will hook up without sensor or computer problems. Heck on this forum we all have two valve motors and do just fine. If you do use your old heads, have machine shop install thread inserts in all the spark plug holes. Wouldn't want a stripped spark plug popping out! You could always sell 3 valve heads and intake to recoup any money loss!

as far as i was told the 03 motor out of the Expedition is a 2V, the motor out of the f150 is a 3V, going for the expediton so it stays the 2v, biggest hope out of all of them is will headers work and i understand i need to get tuning done on this but after i swap the motor will i be able to start and drive it to the dyno tuner lolol...and will 95% or more of the plugs work.....

You are right, 2003 expedition motor is 2 valve not 3. Apparently from what I read from another site 2004 is first year 3 valve. Sorry for not doing my homework. Silly me I thought new generation, new motor. My concern is are their sensors on 2003 that you won't have wires/ plugs for. Can you run without them? Or you may have to transfer parts from old motor. You'll find out, probably in new thread Swapped out 03 motor, help doesn't run right c.e.l. On!

Any time your trying to update something, theirs always a gamble that something won't fit, or work proper. The only way you get plug and play, is to swap in identical part. Worse case scenario is you have to get some wiring/ computer from newer motor, or as I said earlier, swap out some of your parts. I've done a lot of engines, this is what I've had to do. Seems to work for me.

I'm pretty sure 2005 Expeditions were the first year to use 3v. My 2004 is 2 valve.

My good friends son has a 2004 f150 that he said is 3v. Is the pickup truck 1 year earlier on that motor?

My 04 expy is 2 valve. 04 f150 late build might have it. Not saying he does not.

Good luck
