Hi I just purchased a 01 Expedition and my horn doesn't work and neither does my cruise control or any of my functions located on my steering wheel. I keep seeing things online about recall for a speed control switch but I also keep seeing something about a cruise control switch recall as well was wondering if anyone had any information or any issues and how to fix it or just any information in general thanks

Since neither the Speed Control and Horn switches aren't working Your problem may be the clock spring.

If you have the remote FOB Does the horn sound when you lock the doors using the remote. You need to press the remote close button twice and you should hear the horn sound.

Check my post at www.expeditionforum.com/threads/cruise-control-and-horn-inoperative.30234

I had the same exact problem and my issue turned out to be the cruise control amplifier mounted to the servo assy. I'm not saying thats what will fix yours, but there are a few debug steps you can take to help rule out the major components.

I.e. if the horn works with the key off, or when the doors are remotely locked, the the horn relay in the GEM is likely OK. I have a method to check basic functionality of the clockspring by measuring resistance at the cruise amplifier cable. See post for details
