There are several versions of Sylvania Silverstar. The ULTRA, which I spoke of above, is 4200, which for most people is clear white. The Silverstar Xenon 5000K is described by Sylvania as "cool blue". The Silverstar zXe is also a Xenon product but which is described as a 4200 Kelvin blue light. It's really pretty confusing and I wonder if any of us has a way of measuring the delivered light temperature ... I don't have my grandfather's photographic light meter any more!
Bottom line, it is likely to be a matter of personal preference and perception ... my only intent originally was to point out that a relatively inexpensive upgrade is possible without a lot of hassle.
Even comparing company charts, they seem to vary significantly between what they say and what they show!
This chart makes 4300 look quite yellow, but doesn't show the 5000 as noticeably blue.
