I am the new owner of a 2015 Expedition XLT. I dislike the radio and tiny screen more than I thought I would.

Are there any options out there for upgrading this? They integrated everything so I imagine it will be very expensive since so much has to be relocated.

As far as I know, they don't make any aftermarket replacements for the 2015 yet (and they may never). I took a look about a month ago as my mom was looking to replace the unit in her 2015 Explorer.

its a 2 din space...the aftermarket community never makes a unit for a specific vehicle...they make them to accomodate the space...any 2DIN will fit in the expedition...from 97-2015

OP, is this the dashboard style you have? If so, I'd personally leave it alone. I'm not sure the mentioned (expensive) adapter would fit the Expedition. F-series yes though.

Scosche nor Metra yet list an install kit for 2015+ Expeditions. You'll want some sort of adapter kit as the opening is much larger than 2DIN, that adapter kit would have to obsolete the CD drive and add provision for 4-way flasher at minimal. Otherwise, you are looking at one-off custom work by a car stereo shop.

This is what the other dash style is for a 2015+ for comparison. You can see the center stack is likely 2-3 components. Like I say, I'd leave it and learn to love it.

You need to go look at a 2015. The 2015s are NOT the same as you say. No one has a system *YET* to support these but they are coming. There are ones for the 150 and Rams out there now so it is just a matter of time.

This is not the case with the 2015 Explorer/Expedition. The climate control display, external temp, etc. has been integrated into the headunit. So sure it will fit, but you will lose a lot of functionality - until someone comes out with a unit and/or adapter that can accommodate the features integrated into the OEM unit.

Anyone know how to remove the radio? I need to get into the wiring behind the radio but can't figure out how to get the front part off.
