What are you doing to SUV this weekend?

Since I have had the Expy I changed out the tires. I went bigger. Changed out all the suspension. Complete tune up. Changed just about everything you can change. Changed out the lights. My next project is to put a roof basket with off road lights and a brush guard with lights. My wife and I drive this Expy all over the place.

I used Krylon Rustoleum in Matte Black. On the top I used the same but Gloss White and then sprayed a layer of White Flex Seal for the top coat. I used primer first on all of it and sanded very well.

Notice you painted over the chrome in the front. How did you prepare that?

First I sanded it down with 80 grit sandpaper. Then I washed it with SOS pads to clean it. I let it dry in the sun for a while. After dry, I wiped it down with a tack cloth and painted. It came out really well. No bad spots.

So I got the new engine in and the Expy is up and running. Now it is time for the winch, brush guard and the roof rack with all the accessories. Getting close to being done. We hit the road for our trip in April/May.
