hey guys,

I've been wrestling with code 1451 for a while now, I just finished changing the solenoid for a brand new one and it's still throwing the code.

I have traced the wires and don't see any damaged wires but I'm going to try taking a very close look again.

I haven't tested the wires with a multi meter but an going to try that as well.
is there anything else I need to check? the light came on one day when I had to accelerate out of a parking lot and I haven't been able to get rid of it.

Check the wire from the pcm to the solenoid end to end to check if there is any short to ground. You could use a test light and you need a wiring diagram to locate the pin number.

I just checked the connector with my multi meter and I'm getting 10 volts with the truck running, does anyone know if that is the correct voltage?

If its the red wire you checked it should be battery voltage with the ignition on and engine not running.

ended up in a evap nightmare one time when i assumed a new part meant something,

iow, because the part was new, i assumed that wasn't the prob & ended up wasting a sh$tload of time & money on other stuff...

only to find out the new part that i did first thing, was bad
