Brochure says "Made in North Carolina" - that is a plus in my book.

Filters 99% means it will capture a bunch of microscopic trash. Depending on the age and condition of the vehicle it may be overkill. Would it hurt, no but consider the price point compared to other quality filters.

I'm assuming it's a lower cost competitor to the Mobil 1, royal purple and K&N filters. I won't be one to support it as I'm a die hard K&N user.

I was a committed K&N filter guy until the oil filters started topping $12 ea. I've switched to Purolator Pure One filters after a lot of research. The destructive testing reviews (ones that destroy/dismantle the product to see build quality and materials) show that the Purolator product line uses high quality filter material and the filter surface area is well balanced with flow capacity. The build is strong and backflow prevention is reliable. It was rated amongst the top filters which included Wix, K&N, RoyalPurple, and Bosch Premium. Surprisingly, Napa Gold was also rated very high in quality and efficiency.

Yeah Im just not a big K&N guy, the mechanic that replaced the engine in my Z71 before I sold it said the last 3 GM 5.3's he had replaced were all running K&N air filters, thats enough coincidence for me.
