This is the first time I've owned a vehicle powerful enough to tow a sizeable trailer, so I have some questions. First, from what I've gathered, the EB Triton 5.4 edition, with the the frame-mounted towing rack, can tow up to 7600lb. The trailer I will be hauling is well below that. I should be okay, right?
Second, is there any easy way to adapt the vehicle-mounted 4-pin-flat wiring receiver (female) to a 7-blade-round (male) connector on the trailer? Seems going the other way is a breeze - there's an inexpensive adapter available at any auto-parts store - but I'll be dealing with a wiring kit and the rest that's quite a bit more involved.

Your max trailer weight will depend on if you have 2X4 or 4X4 and if you have 16 or 17 inch tires and your axel ratio. Check your owners manual

What is the Gross weight rating of the trailer you plan to tow?

Look under the rear bumper hitch and check the trailer connector. Follow it to the main harnws and you should see where that 4 pin connector connects. That connector is also the same that is used for a 7 pin connector. You may be able to find an expy in a salvage yard that has the 7 pin harness and its then just plug and play.

Also recommend that you install a trailer brake controller.

++ on all the above.

Double-check your Combined Gross Vehicle Weight. Don't forget your cargo, fuel, water tank, camping gear, bikes...., passengers etc. in your equation. Recommend an anti-sway kit as well. Extended tow mirrors might also be a plus too.
