Hello
I recently purchased a 2011 Expedition King Ranch with 31,000 miles on the meter. I'm experiencing a strange problem: 9 out of 10 times, when i run over a speed hump or a set of rumblers on the street, the woofer starts to give out a strange, very deep sounding rhythmic thumps, approximately 5 thumps a second.

Nothing i do will stop it thereafter until i power down the entertainment system.

Any idea whats causing this to happen, and any cheap fix? All inputs are welcomed with thanks

Gotta be a short somewhere or wires touching somewhere...u'll have to follow all wires to head unit and to rear sub/ amp

Thanks for your suggestions, 10k-watts and ablivion. As it turns out, the problem has not occurred after i found a ****** CD in the CD Changer...While fiddling around with the Head Unit, i found an old...really old.. audio CD, in the CD changer. Found it by chance when i pressed eject several times...seems the previous owner left it there. As the Head Unit is also a shoddy job done by the previous owner in replacement of the OEM head unit, there was no indication that there is a CD inside. Each time i went over a bump, the CD seems to have created the sound in the audio.

Apparently not the CD problem after all. Going to open up the panel to check out the sub/amp...
