How's it going ladies and gents? The name's Joey. Was just given my dads 2001 Eddie Bauer Expedition. Has a blown 4.6 and it's RWD. I found a Gen 1 5.4 4x4 for a steal and I'm planning to do a full driveline swap. Just introducing myself, but any tips you guys have would be greatly appreciated! This is my first truck, although I've owned a few Mustangs and SVT's throughout the years.

Welcome... V10 w/ 6spd manual swap? Or the same boring lightning swap?

Might be easier to swap the bodies instead of the drive line. I think it is 12 bolts to separate them.

Yea Stamp11127, I've been doing some research and it seems that a body swap is the easiest way to go about doing this.

Unfortunately, the frame of the donor 4x4 EB is rusted pretty bad on the drivers side. Looks like it was either a Northern truck or was constantly buried in mud and never cared for. I'm gonna try my hand at welding some reinforcement plates on the bottom of the frame to see if I can stop the cracking.

But the engine purrs like a kitten. Didn't get to test the 4x4 yet, but everything looks really good. I'll probably do a build thread to keep you guys updated.

And Habbibie, I wish I was doing a Lightning swap lol. Maybe waaaayyyyy down the road, I'll supercharge or turbocharge it. But the first mod it's getting is a lift. I got lucky and it doesn't have the Air Ride suspension. I'm thinking anywhere between 3" and 6". I'd love to have her sitting on some 35s or 37s
