So I did some experimenting with this. I'm not sure exactly where to start troubleshooting for a fix. If I lift up on the door lock plunger, I can open the door from the outside, but not from the inside. It sounds to me like there is a combo problem with the action on the actuator arm at the latch assembly combined with a problem with the child safety switch. I don't know - I feel like I just made all that up. Should I just plan on replacing the latch assembly to fix? What could cause this kind of behavior that is actually fixable without replacing the latch assembly?

I found pulling the door lock, up and down, several times, unstuck my doors.

I tried this for hours. I think I just need to get the panel off and see if I can "see" something that is amiss. If not, replacing the latch assembly seems like the only other option.

After I manually worked, the lock plunger(top of panel, don't be gentle.), the doors opened. I sprayed the hell out of the latch with WD40. I gave the doors a couple of firm slams and hit power locks a few times.

Did this last night - it just needed to be lubed up but the child safety latch was binding. Couldn't really see back in there very good, but as soon as I got everything soaked down good and worked the lock and the child safety lock a lot, I was able to open from the inside and from the outside. I used WD40, but I probably should have used silicone spray. Thank you for all the insights you guys had. So extremely helpful.

Will open a new thread for recommendations on replacing the window switch housing that connects to the door panel - all tabs were busted off!
