Hi from Carlsberg Germany, hope somebody understand my bad english,

I want to install two midsound speaker in the dashboard near the frontwindow, left and right. The speaker have 3 " , and they are 44 mm deap. If I cut a round piece out there , will there be enough space for them under the dashbord ?

Greetings, Michael

Short answer is NO, there is no room.

You might do some searching on the internet, look for A-Pillar speaker mounts. Don't know who would make them.

If you really want speakers on top of the dash area, your best bet, if you can not buy them, would to make custom speaker pods on your A-Pillar covers.

Interesting idea. I don't have your answer but in the thread to find out the outcome. I would love more up front sound. Currently have JL Audio 5X7 in the doors and a extra pair of tweeters in the doors. They can't keep up with the four Rockford 12" subs in back.

four 12" Subs ? isnt it a little to much ? I made myself a subwoofer with one 12" and the bass is good.
Now I made myself a housing for the a- pillar, I buy a lamp for the outside of the house, throw away al inside and put in a 3" Speaker. I use real good German Speaker "Visaton FRS8". Then you need two capacitors 220 µF between the line of +.
When I am finish - I make a picture of it and post it here.
In backdoors , I throw out the ashtreys and do the same with a Visaton 10cm Speaker. The original speakers I changed already in a two way speaker

No, lol, not too much. The four 12"s replaced two JL Audio 18"s and truthfully, the 18"s sounded better and were a tad louder. I regret swapping those subs.
I do like my bass, one Corvette has one 12", the other Corvette and my Talon have three 12" subs eachIMG_5066.JPG 20160407_170636.jpg

Oh ^^ it looks crazy :) I like to hear the music nearly to the real sound like in a concert, also the different channels in stereo. The Subwoofer kills the stereosound, but in the Navigator you have only in the frontdoors enough volume for a god stereobass, the backdoors have no real Volume behind the speakers, so I decided to make me one Sub.
But my A- pillar mids are finished - and the little speakers bring the frequences I missed. here are my pics.. made out of a Outdoorlamp..

Any chance you could get a picture of that speaker you replaced the ashtray with? You have some pretty unique ideas.

Hi again,

of course I have a picture, see here under my answer.
The green thing is the wright capacitor you need - because the little speaker should not play to much bass, otherwise they will jump. The Speaker front is Visaton FRS 8, Backdoor Visaton W100S, The Housing is made from a lamp type "Meran" german companie Bauhaus. The bass speaker comes from Conrad elektronik, not expensive but good - not more than 30$ one piece - The Speakerhousings of the bass needs a filling with an accusticmatt. The capacitors you will find on ebay search worldwide when you search INTERTECHNIK TONFREQUENZ-ELKO RAU 220µF 100 V
