Is there any way to fix the turn arrows in the mirrors? They both work but they seem really dim at night and you can barely see then during the day. Thanks

Check current to them at the door or kick plates.

  1. Factory installed?
  2. On or behind glass?
  3. Is the glass electroplating fading/peeling or still silver?

There are at least three different turn mirrors

  • Red Signal Arrow behind glass encased in backing plate: Non-Heated, 5 lead connection
  • Red Signal Arrow behind glass glued to back of mirror: Non-Heated, 5 lead connection

  • Red Signal Arrow on plastic mirror cover: Heated, 11 lead connection, bulb is serviceable.

i too have a 99 eb with dim mirror signals, they work but are dim. i have the ones behind the glass mirror :( doesn't really bother me tho just be nice if they were brighter.

BTW it's mainly the angle your looking at them, blowing compressed air up in the mirror seem to make mine a little bit more visible now.pressure washing up in there didn't seem to help but that day i really didn't try lol maybe you could do that ??

You could try this if you want. Take the door pad off. At the front top above the speaker is the connection for the mirror. Turn your hazards on and with a test probe hit each lead on the connector with a test light until it flashes. That one is flashing is power the light.

Try this at your own risk: Take a wire with volts going through it and hit that lead. Check if it's brighter.

Yes: then there is not enough current going to the light or bad ground. Check with a Muti-Meter.
No: Then the LEDs are just going be that way or need to be replaced.

I had a set on mine and never noticed how bright they were I could see them fine. I change mine because I couldn't find replacement glass for them because the electroplating was failing. That annoyed me more than anything. When it was bright out you could see the backing plate behind them. I still have them sitting around in a box waiting to see if I come across the replace glass for them. I did install newer mirrors my luck they were the same color. On these the signal is part of painted plastic and they sit on the top outside corner of the mirror. It uses a regular bulb which I plan on changing out to LED's when I upgraded them all. Drawback was I lost the power mirror option, but gain heated mirrors I live in the northeast so rather heated more than power mirrors any day.

How does one remove the bulb??? I've got an '00 EB with the signal mirrors and the Right signal does not work. I'd like to replace the bulb-perhaps with LED's. I've checked the owner's manual, Haynes, youtube and can't find out how to remove it. Anyone know?
