This is my first Expedition, 1997 EB 5.4 4x4 w/o air ride, and I like the look and feel of the truck. So, what I have done to the 200K mile truck so far:

1) A/C Manifold and Tube Assembly, it gets hot in Florida.
2) Subwoofer - Pioneer
3) All door speakers - Kenwood
4) Nav/radio system - Boss
5) All door lock actuators
6) Liftgate and glass cable ends - FGT Motorsport
7) Headlight and taillight assemblies, Lightning style headlights.
8) Repaired the running board sockets and 3rd brake light sockets.
9) LED’s out/in except the headlights and foglights, not sure about those yet. ZHOL had true bright white color, no hint of blue.
10) Repaired the steering tube and gear shift indicator adjustor.
11) Added Esky backup camera to radio for towing and put it on a relay so it works normal or with a switch while driving.
12) Replaced all lift struts.
13) Added full time plug adaptor for Pulse Tech Xtreme Battery Charger & Desulfator. Need to find a better mounting place, so I do not have to open hood at all to connect, it is just behind the headlight now.
14) Replaced multifunction switch.

What I want to do, but do not need it yet:

1) Brake system overhaul
2) Suspension overhaul
3) Electric fans
4) New carpet and headliner (leather), possibly new front seat upholstery
5) New alternator and red top battery
6) A/T wheels
7) Prerunner style hidden wench bumper
8) Replace both amplifiers with Clarion amps, for same site install
9) Tie down rings in back so cargo does not slide or flip

Welcome and man you're going all out on this rig, keep your spendings at a minimum as your return will yield minimal to none in revenue if you decided to sell or get bored of it once it's all done.

As long as I keep doing the work myself, cost is semi minimum. I do however like to be comfortable in what I drive. My last 4x4 was an IH Scout II 345c.i., man that was a fun ride. Only problem with Scout's is, they are rust magnets.
Thank you for the welcoming.

I can now add repair of side mirrors. Previous owner had plastic bags, from peanuts, folded and holding the mirrors. I removed the door switch, opened it, cleaned it, removed peanut bags and now my mirrors move on command again....FREE.

^^LOL^^

here's a cosmetic tip, get the OEM fog lenses cleaned and clear to match the shine of the rest of the lights in the front. They look hazy & cloudy

The truck looks clean. I stick to only replacing, what is needed or bad. It is 20 years old, with 200K. If someone hits it and totals it, you only will get book value. Probably less than $2000. Any accident, with damage more than Book value, it will be considered totaled. I new someone with a nice, older Deville. He hit a deer and needed a fender, bumper and headlight. Minor stuff, but insurance declared it a total loss. He got it fixed, but was unable to carry collision coverage and it had a salvage title.

Really it is not about the ROI, it is about comfort and tinkering. I can spend my extra cash on this or:
scuba gear
rock climbing gear
a 1/4 miler
guns
none of this will return even a portion of the investment made....i know
