Anyone had to deal with this? 05 Expedition EB. I glues the broken tabs and when I pressed on the buttons to use it, it broke again. Is there a garage fix besides looking in the junkyard or buying new? 7c85e704b44b396224c04388168d0a2d.jpg

Use the proper glue or industrial strength silicone adhesive.
What did you use to glue it with?

Gorillas version of superglue. I'm just surprised there is nothing else supporting it's weight than the 4 screws.

After having the super glue products fail many times in the past I quit using them. But they are good for gluing things to your fingers...

there should be more than that holding it in. Should have brackets on the side or on the back

was it every removed with before? Is that nav system stock?

When I looked up the vin, it came with the factory audiophile system with flip down TV and headphones. Nothing else back there but empty space. Only owned it for 8 months.

I am saying look back there of evidence of a missing bracket or screws etc. I cannot believe all its held in there is by the front plastic tabs. gotta have some other bracing

I did find some on ebay and it does look like there is nothing else holding it in hard to tell

if you are handy maybe you could brace up the corners with some thin metal and screw it to the housing

There is a product like super glue that has a powder you put on after applying the glue that dries in a second and can be sanded and drilled if need be. It has two powders, one for plastic and one for metal. Can be gotten at Napa and might work for you. It's called Q-Bond. It has worked pretty well for me.

As you can see there is zero support behind the AC unit. I shaved down the broken tabs and then ran the screws into the nubs left. They bit and it's mounted again. 1eb1ba56b1a8697eea949c839fb3a641.jpgd3373a7b23bc1fecb1c9f58640162f89.jpg49ec46ee39f5fded7e7f65ecde1ac2e2.jpg
