In the Lincoln vs Cadillac battle Is was very surprised to see the large number of Escalades driving around Manhattan when I was there last year. Obviously this is the replacement for the Lincoln Town Car in the chauffeur service. Very few Navigator.

I'm not surprised in the slightest.

The Escalade is a far nicer truck than the Navigator right now.

The Navigator needs a leap forward for 2019. It needs a smoother ride, more sound deadening, and nicer materials to seriously compete with the Escalade.

Right now, the only GM the Navigator is competing with is a Denali Yukon.

The new ones are starting to grow on me but it will be at least 5 years before I buy another new one. I have 1300 miles on the 17 now. I'm really racking up the miles. :)

The navigator already has a smoother ride model for model, has better seats, nore space and is just as quiet. It just doesn't look the part. Is the navi a luxury vehicle, by current std not rele. Neither the escalade or the navi can compete really against its foreign "competition" but gm knows good looks and an amazing engine can negate its other flaws(driving dynamics, interior comfort and packaging)

and to be honest, a sub par product that costs more than 10k than the expy. Tons of quality issues with the GM products from what i hear.

escalades are getting better deals of the companies that run folks around, its all about the bottom line and a fleet sales package that makes it business worthy.
it has nothing to do with ride or interior looks.

I don't know shi* from shine-ola but the Nav is just plain UGLY to me. Kind of like that butterface girl we all "dated" back in the day with a smoking body but ugly as the day is long.......wouldn't want your friends to see you with her but boy she could rock you when you were alone....

For our trip, I learned long ago to hire a limo service to get back and forth to the airport. It's only a couple of hundred bucks but makes life so simple, especially when you return and you're tired and just want to get home. Having a driver waiting at the baggage claim with your name on a sign is really nice. Anyway, the driver shows up in a new Town Car...what a POS. Was nothing more than a glorified crown vic to me. Hollow sounding doors, tin sounding trunk lid, ok but not magical ride...just not really impressed with Lincolns efforts in the past few years.
