Does anyone know if I can add more clutches and/or shims to increase the bias or preload in a 1999 9.75 Limited Slip Diff? I do not want the expense of lockers but want to improve off road capabilty.

Hope I found the right forum this time.

Man I've done a ton of reading on the subject and it seems like no one has tried with the limited slip in the 9.75. Pretty much every thread everywhere is about rebuilding it, and not improvimg on it.

I just replaced mine with an Eaton Detroit True Trac. In my "Thunder" build thread you can see the details.

Even on the Lightning boards where a lot of people wear the clutches out, replacing them with a true trac or detroit locker is all I've ever seen and never an upgraded rebuild.

That's what I'm seeing too. I guess I'm gonna have to be the first. Thanks for the reply

That's actually what I was thinking about doing as well. Locker and done.
