I enjoy negotiating for used cars. I always go in with half of what they are asking on a cash deal, they usually reject that and come back with something higher, then I go back with a lower price and ask for a new set of tires or an extended warranty. Usually they will take the second price but reject the tires or warranty, which is usually where I want to be, sometimes it takes a third round, and if they reject my offer, I say thanks, and I get up and head for the door. They usually don't let me get out the door and if they do well then I'll find something else or I'll get a call in the morning.I think these plans are terrific, especially for those that aren't keen on negotiating. A lot of folks are put off by having to negotiate a deal so for them, those programs & plans are a Godsend. I have negotiated for a living for 30+ years and I love playing the game but I also understand that most people don't.

On new vehicles I'm not as good because I'm not as sure as how much I can push.
