out of nowhere the other day i had a puddle of trans fluid under my truck. it never did that before. i check fluid and added some. my truck was parked facing downhill. every time it faces downhill i get a puddle. if i turn it around and park uphill its fine. not even a drop. do i probably have a leak at where my dipstick tube goes into trans? it runs fine. only leaks on downhill parking.

If you take it on the highway do you notice any oil on the back glass? The reason I asked is I had a cracked transmission dipstick tube when I bought my 05 (bought used) and around town it didn't leak but when I drove it down the highway there was an oily mist over the liftgate and after it sat overnight I had a puddle under the truck. I took it back to the dealer that sold it to me and it took them a couple of days to figure out where it was coming from.

I had a problem with the o ring on the transmission dipstick tube on mine. Replaced it and it's been fine ever since.

There's a big bolt up on the side of the engine block that secures it in place. You might have to take the inner wheel well liner out to get to it. After you remove that bolt the tube just pulls out. You can get a new one at the dealer, or sometimes on Amazon.
