Gixer, can you explain to a newb what the advantage is going from the 6.0 to 7.0? Are they designed better?

Yes it's an overall better design. The 6.0 took some tuning to get a perfect cutoff. The 7.0 with a quality bulb is spot on every time. Plus you gain more width, distance and a more crisp cutoff.

@gixer2000 your lights are great, not busy or overly complicated and match your truck well. I’d have probably preferred going with some Morimoto projectors for their superior output, but I do like having the ability to grab parts off nearly any OEM Ford HID system if something fails. Plus he gave me two extra ballasts and bulbs, pretty much guaranteeing I can make them last forever.

@USMCBuckWild I paid $400 for everything, including the extras. Which is a hell of a bargain, as I’m sure gixer can attest to.

All the positive comments are appreciated, I wasn’t sure how the dark headlights would look on the Expedition, but I’m well beyond happy with the end result.

$440 is a damn good deal! Typically for a complete retro you looking closer to $1000 if you have someone build them. If you build yourself it's under $400 but $440 including parts is steal.

I couldn't deal with the amber bleed-off flooding the ground below and behind the bumper, but a 10,000% improvement over stock, well done. Ford really should have illuminated this strip.

What bulb is in the turn signal socket? Can you easily see it flash at night with the new bright strip next to it?

That amber bleed-off isn’t nearly as strong as it appears, and there’s none that bleeds off behind the bumper at all. I think my camera just picks up the light weird, the amber lighting is sealed inside the housing, what you are seeing is just the output from the lights themselves.
It’s a factory halogen bulb in the turn signal socket, and there’s no problems seeing it day or night. I’d say it’s about as twice as bright as the parking lights. I tried an LED bulb, but was disappointed with its output.

I haven’t gotten output pics quite yet, I need to do some slight adjustments to the beam height, and finding a spot next to a building with 25’ of flat space is shockingly difficult here in mountain country. That and I have only driven it once since I got home.
