Lol. I just want the outer tail lamps/turn signals. Nothing else. No glam bam. Just the two outer lights. I’ll have to play around with this when I’m off the road for a bit.

What year was that Navigator that you posted? Is it a 17? Without a ruler just eyeing it it seems like it might fit. It would be nice to see if you could pick one up in a junk yard just to see if it would fit the opening. If it does, it would be easy to figure out the wiring.

I think that was a 2015. Same year as my Expedition.

So @Muddy Bean for what’s it worth, I spent some time comparing part numbers between a 2015 Expedition and Navigator. The rear quarter panel, side supports, bumper cover support, and hitch are all the same part number between the two vehicles. Obviously, the taillights and the bumper cover are different. But I’d wager that physically, you could do the swap using a Navigator bumper cover and taillights. Wiring would be a different issue, but I can’t imagine it would be hard to make that part work. The Expedition already has a separate wire for the turn signal, you’d just have to match it to the input on the Navigator taillights.

That's encouraging. If we could find a wiring diagram for the Navigator and Expedition Tail Light assemblies would could make quick work of this.

I've got access to the wiring diagrams. I'll share them with whoever is interested.

Any update on this project @Muddy Bean ?
I've got an '07 Expedition EL and I'd love to do the same: get some amber turn signals.

Thought it might be a lost cause until I saw the Navigators with their amber turn signals and wondered how easy the swap might be.

What he said. The Expedition and Navigator share the same rear quarter panel. This means the 2015-17 Navigator tail lamps should install in the Expedition openings. (I haven't studied pics of earlier models so I don't know about those.)

BUT, with that said, the 2015-17 Navi tail lamp assemblies are *shorter* in height than the Expy units. So, you would have a *gap* underneath each tail lamp that would need to be filled in. This can addressed by making a custom filler piece and attaching it to the bottom of each lamp assembly.

All this is assuming you can figure out the wiring of course. . .

I haven’t chased this down yet. Working a lot lately....and in my free time I’m trying to rid my truck of mice. That being said, I’d like to do this swap do I appreciate very much the info. It is indeed encouraging...the wiring shouldn’t be too much drama.
