192" & 3500-3600 lbs of large car propelled by a 1.2L???

Did I fall asleep and wake up in Europe?????
It is a 1.5 L EcoBoost and it has a turbo and it faster than the older 2.3 L 4 cylinder in the 07. Of course when you drive a 4 cylinder you drive it with your foot in it all the time. It's not like a V8 or even a V6 EcoBoost.

Dang, just called the shop who HAD told me this past Tuesday my truck would be ready when I stopped by last Wed before Kerry and I took off for Las Vegas for a few days....now they are telling me Monday...and God I hate the rental!

Here's a pic of the wheel well trim they are replacing for me........I honestly don't know if the deer hit it or not but I never noticed it prior....and I sure would have noticed a gash like this!

PS just tell the idiots to get it in and get it painted and pick up the trim piece later. Not like them scratches make the truck undriveable

FINALLY! Crystal from the repair shop called and told me I'm good to go. I can't get rid of this POS rental fast enough but I sure hope they got the paint right....I'm trying to have faith...

As to the front trim damage, I addressed it honestly with the adjuster and he elected to cover it for me....honesty, it works!

Fingers crossed today.....we'll see. I hate driving the rental so bad that I almost pulled my SLK out from under it's cover in the garage yesterday before work but it was freezing out and it really does not do well on ice or any kind of frost. When I first bought it I learned about not being able to drive in snow deeper than 1.5". I literally sat in the street right in front of my home with the rear tires spinning, trying to get it back up the "hill" so I could re-garage it....in less than an inch of snow! Yeah, REALLY not good in it!! Lesson learned: Ultra-high performance street tires do not move in snow. A full set of TOL Yokohama All seasons performed barely better......now I just leave it in the garage in winter.

As us older guys will remember....Ricardo Montalban said during the Ford Commercials in the 1970's........."Pe-arfect", "pe-arfect"!!

It might have taken two weeks but I cannot tell where it was so I'm happy with the results.

The best part was when I called Kerry on the way home from the shop and told her...."wow, I sure bought a niceassed truck"...it's good to have it back again and it was FUN driving into work this morning!

I just re-ordered the aftermarket "3.5 Twin Turbo" emblem I had in front of the door. The shop had called me a day or two after I dropped it off. They told me that they had accidently broke the one I had on my truck but were unable to find the part number in the Ford Part's book. I explained that it was aftermarket and not to worry, I would replace it when they were done.
