Hello all, I'm new here.
Although I do in fact own a 2001 Expedition, I am here about something a little different.

My daily driver is a 1986 Bronco. I decided to make it a little more comfortable by swapping in seats from an 07 Ex. What an upgrade! They'e the black and orangish brown two tone leather, with 10 way, memory, and heat/cooling. So far I'e been able to make all but the memory work. They move in every direction, and I have figured out how to build my own module for the climate control. But being that I'm retrofitting these in, and have only limited idea of specifics on these seats, I'm here for a little assistance.

First things first, if anyome has these seats and can test a few things, it would be greatly appreciated. I now need some parameters to set.
First, I need to know just how hot these are supposed to get. If anyone can shoot the outer cushions with an IR thermometer and tell me what they get up to in high and low settings, that'd be great. I'm looking for temperatures when the seat is empty. Basically, fire it up and see how hot the outer cushions get before it shuts down.

Secondly, and this is the harder part, if anyone is bored and can open up a seat and test the voltages for the fan and TED, that will give me a lot better idea of how to achieve desired temperature. I'm hoping to get around the guess and test method. So far it's taking quite awhile.

I want to set these up like factory, I just need to know the numbers.

If anyone can check this stuff, or knows it off hand (or any extra helpful info they want to share) I would love to hear from you!

Also, forums are not my forte;if I posted in the wrong area, I apologize, and although I have done some extensive searching, if there is a thread with info pertaining to this one, I apologize that I did not come across it.

Thanks again

Welcome to the forum Cody. I'm not going to be able to help you with the seat info but most of the seats that have memory have a memory module that is driven by software in the vehicle. I'm sure someone here will be able to at least provide the seat wiring diagrams for your 07 seats.

You're right, they do have a memory module, that from what I can tell, runs off the main BCM, because of the mirror and pedal adjustment too. So to use that in my truck probably wouldnt do me much good. Im thinking I might be able to grab a memory module from an older vehicle that only has seat memory, like end gen explorer, or maybe even first gen ex. (I can't remember what all is stored in my ex now that I think of it... I believe it' seat only..)

I do have wire diagrams from every manual I could find, as well as Ford's shop manual. That' all straight forward enough. What I can't seem to find is specific numbers..

Thanks for the reply!

Cody, I’m intrigued by your genius in getting these seats to work in such a mature truck. Can you post photos of your install? This sounds really cool.

Memory module can be wired around by splicing seat controls into motors directly.

07 seats are the good stuff, pre-whiplash regulation headrest nastiness

I can try to get some pictures tonight. I haven't a clue as to how to post them though...

I'll shoot some temps tomorrow.

Not sure I'll have time to get a motor voltage because the seat may have to come out. they are kinda jammed under there but I'll try

I appreciate that! From what I understand, all the motors are the same. On the seat backs, it just unzips on the back cover and everything is right there staring at you. It's not worth trying to get to the bottom of the seat when you can just sit in the second row. Lol. Thanks though.

I'll try to get some pictures this weekend for anyone interested.

Sorry for the hijack but can't resist. I had a full size '87 Eddie Bauer Bronco, loved it. Pulled up next to its twin at a Pizza Hut sometime around 1990. Took a look inside and there was no driver's bucket seat!

Went inside and who was at one of the tables? Manute Bol! Drove from the back seat! Imagine a cop pulling him over for a traffic violation.

BTW, the story now is he lied about his age and may have been 50 when he played in the NBA.
