Has anyone thought about removing the lettering in their Expy or Navi?

The Navigator has ‘LINCOLN’ across the back in raised letters and I’ve been back and forth on removing these for a cleaner look. I know the Expys have badging on the door and tail gate as well. Has anyone taken off their badging on their trucks? Thoughts on this?

Only the trim level badging on the Expys can be removed. The rest is embossed into the chrome trim piece or has alignment holes behind it for the studs on the back of the emblems. I do think the NAVIGATOR lettering looks well placed on these new ones though.

You can't take off the "MAX" on the tailgate? I took all the badges off my X5 when I bought it and it looks so much better. Funny thing there was an article I read in USAToday over week about the release of the Bullit at Detroit Auto show and they were saying how they kept to McQueen's design for the car and left off all badges cause it is so recognizable.

I really hope you can de-badge.

I’ve never been big on lots of badges, can’t stand the front license place, and flat out refuse to buy a car with any dealer advert stickers. I won’t put stickers on my car either, I haven’t thought of a good apology for my children should they ever make the honor roll lol

I like people knowing I own a Platinum EL so I left my badges on. If you do decide to debadge on your 18, I’d do it sooner than later bc the 3m tape behind the badges becomes a real pain later on to remove completely without really tearing up the paint. I know some have had to do a correction after badge removal bc of how hard it was to remove the residue. My 16 has 3 raised platinum badges in it and I think it’s just enough

Artie, I am with you I actually make no dealer decals a part of the we owe upon signing of paperwork so they can’t have it on. If I didn’t live in NJ no front LP for me either. Stickers is my soft spot from growing up, but still not one on any of my cars in years. Only thing close is a static American Flag that goes on inside of window.

Count me in too, no dealer stickers, no dealer license plate frames. Wish I could forgo the front plate but NYS Troopers don't like it.

Haven't done it yet but the P L A T I N U M letters will be gone from mine by spring.

I always have a good laugh when I see a vehicle with a ton of aftermarket autozone badge/chrome accents all over it. To each their own.

i dont think there is anything blatant on the new expys. definitely no dealer info!!!!! one small CSZ sticker in the lower left of the back glass to rep my hood as is tradition. the platinum badging does not bother me although i may decide to remove.

Further expansion of this topic.

Has anyone who ordered the platinum thought about replacing the mirror caps with body color?

The chrome mirror caps was one of many reasons I ordered my ‘07 Tahoe as a maxed out LT (body color mirror caps) rather than the LTZ (chrome mirror caps).

It is the only place on the ‘18 Expy Plat. that i don’t like the chrome.
