So just bought 16. Went to set a personal code. Tried on door no go. Went through Sync 3 and said original code was wrong. Doubled checked code, even took off kick panel to confirm. It is like the code is wrong.

Anyone ran into this. Auto start and other features work.

No. I just bought a 17, took off the passenger kick panel and noted the original code...made my personal code with no problems.

Press 1 and 2 simultaneously
Enter new 5 digit code
Press 1 and 2 simultaneously
Doors will lock and unlock

I have SYNC 2, but when I first went to enter my own code, I somehow accidentally wiped out both my code and the factory code. At that point even the factory code became useless. I didn’t think you could delete the original code, but it sure wouldn’t work for me.
I had forgotten about it until I started playing around with FORScan, and I’m only guessing, but reprogramming the APIM apparently reset the code and I was able to use it from that point forward. Not sure if SYNC 3 works the same, but maybe someone deleted the factory code? Perhaps a hard reset of your SYNC is all it will take to restore it.

If you have Forscan you can read the code and make sure you are using the right master code. Or, if you are near Knoxville I can help you.
