Lately the tailgate will open by itself when sitting over night. I thought maybe I accidentally left it open but that not the case. Sometimes when I am driving I hear the beep as if someone is trying to open the liftgate. Any ideas on what the issue is? Casper living in my truck?

Spare key getting bumped? When my pockets are full that sometimes happens to me only on the back glass.

Maybe the latch isn't fully engaging? Maybe lube it with some lithium spray.

Open your tail gate Then using a screw driver close the latch and then see if you can open it with the screw driver in the opposite direction that you closed if you can then tha latch isn't completely closing Then close the lift gate as you normally do and have someone on the inside try to push it open
Can you tell us the year of your truck?
Does it have push button start or do you use a key?
Just out of curiosity have you read the codes to see if anything shows up?
