Damn, I have watched from the saddle of a bike, police positioning their police cars as a roadblock in my honor, I have also been honored to meet constables from several of our wonderful states, one who just wanted to tell me how he admired the way my SLK sliced through WV's beautiful mountain roads....and oh, here's a $247 note of appreciation. He actually reduced the speed a ton because he didn't want to take a nice guy like me to jail and he would have had to for 136mph but he did say he was impressed we held this for 10 or 12 miles as he followed me. Speed has always been my kryptonite....ask a drug addict about drugs and he'll know.....I know my Expy does over 105......LMAO....ok, but I just had to let it stretch a bit.....see?

Ask the speed guy about speed laws.....yeah, we all say stuff that we wish we could take back....I suspect such is the case with the statement you guys are alluding to by the author you are talking about but don't be too mean.

We all have valid opinions, even if our facts are a bit sketchy at best<LOL>....in other words.....I'm highly entertained by his utterances so please don't screw it up!!

jeff

FWIW--- my lawyer son tells me that any officer of the law can invoke incidental reasons that affect SAFE speed.....so it's intentionally left arbitrary....but nearly every single State law says minimum is w/i 20mph of safe max speed.

Round trip from Montgomery Alabama to Roanoke, Va in Easter weekend traffic at 78mph when I could/ 0 sitting in stopped hwy traffic when I couldn't using 87 octane netted 17.8mpg via the trip computer. I am impressed.

I know I get annoyed with those that don't know the left lane is for passing not cruising. It's getting so 18 wheelers have started hanging out there as well. Pass get back over would go along way towards better road manners. I'm not sure if it's ignorance or selfishness for those that never move back out of the passing lane with others behind them waiting to pass or having to pass them on the right side.

Dallas to Lawton, OK this weekend running between 75-80mph netted me 18.7mpgs. I’m tuned and running 93 octane. I’m plenty happy with those numbers
