You have the exact same symptoms as I did. Doesn't matter how slow you fill, what station, what direction, moon phase, etc. At fuel gauge reading 3/4, your toes get wet. I waited a month and used my odometer hoping it would heal. It didn't. It is the sending unit on the fuel pump. Wait till it says it is empty, and then drop tank and replace fuel pump. They aren't cheap.

My 2007 does the same thing. If I am filling up I wait until it's about 3/4 full then I listen for the noise of it coming up the neck. Once I hear that I shut off the pump for a few seconds and let the air bubble out, maybe also shake the vehicle a bit. I fill the rest not using the position lock on the pump and make sure to listen for the noise of the fuel about to come out and it does the trick.
