How come I never knew these existed?

Found out these existed on random media on the forum and someone had the dealer put them in on their 2012...... cool nonetheless. Nice upgrade for 07’-14’ expy owners.

There's also a version for the 2017 so I assume 2015-2017. Found that on the Ford owner site in the accessories section.

I'm sure they are the exact same part then considering our door sills are the same but I wasn't sure. Id imagine it works on 2nd gen as well because they have similar door sills. However once a vehicle reaches 10 years old ford no longer offers products on their accessories site for them so the only way for guys to know is to check. Even for my 07 nothing is available on accessories yet I punch in an 08 which is no different (my aunt owns one, same trucks) and boom tons of accessories available. They also have non illuminated regular stainless ones for an easy install.

I had these for a few years. Nice and at first, but a little thicker than they needed to be and my wife and daughters shoes tore them up pretty quickly. We don't have running boards and these got stepped on regularly. It would have been ideal if these were incorporated or recessed into a full replacement sill but instead these simply sit on top. Double sided tape install. Rears were unlit and fairly small lengthwise.

Lights were more of a turquoise or baby blue color which matched exactly none of the interior. Inside the truck we have some silver and some chrome accents here and there, but no stainless, so not exactly incorporating if that makes any sense. Pictures I remember seeing showed white/clear lights so the blue was a surprise. Plug & play and these were on anytime the mirror puddle lamps & courtesy lights were on.

We have Weathertech floormats and thankfully don't live in the snow belt. I'd imagine snow and slush melting down the Weathertech diverter would ruin these quickly. They are stainless, fairly thin at that, with lexan sandwiched inside. You must drill a small hole in each plastic sill plate to run the wires, which terminate in the kickpanels.

Can't recommend these. They scratched and dinged way too easily. Seems like I paid $200'ish a few years back, so the price hasn't come down any.

Thanks for being honest, saves people some hassle.

I'll second that! Thanks for the report. I've looked at these a couple of times but I definitely will not buy them now. :)

Are you kidding? Pay money to know that you have a hidden name tag on your car? If you really want to feel good, reach around and scratch your #%@! Sweet Jesus, People! :baby:

No offense.
