So I’m assuming the led mirror turn signals are not getting 12v? If they are why not tap into those?

Gixer, if you can sort out how to do this properly so there’s no phantom blinking of the brake lights etc when turn signals are used...I really would love the info. I really want to make this happen...

I'm sure I could figure it out it's just how your bcm would feel about it. My sjb isn't as sensitive as a bcm. I'm on vacation all this week but when I finish the retro this will be my next project. Yours could probably be done with programming from the navigator blinker program and maybe a harness swap. I'd need to locate both schematics to be sure though

Actually looking again I actually could rob from the mirrors. They do get 12v so all I would need to do is drop a relay with the coil powered off the mirror blinkers and cut the blinker circuit for the rear tail some place before the brake ties in. Good idea Muddy!

The toughest part is still splitting the blinker from the stop. They are both controlled by the sjb so if I cut out the rear I'm technically cutting out the front also unless I open up the sjb and disconnect the blinker side of the mosfet for just the rear. May hit a junk yard for an sjb

Interesting...so the junction box is where it’s at....I need to study this more because I don’t fully grasp the way our lighting is wired in these trucks. My 2015 is so complicated it amazes me...

Hi, I'd like to do some led upgrades to my 2016 EL limited,
Here's what I think I've learned from this thread.
For my rear brake/signal I need a 7443 not a 3057.
Then use FORscan to stop the hyper flash? And that requires a doggle?
How difficult is Forscan to use?
Would I be able to make the LEDs in the mirrors sequential?
I've already purchased the LEDs for the reverse.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I'm not sure where I missed you on that Tekonsha 118158 box.
Input is what you have now and output delivers what you are looking for.

Apparently when I looked it up the other night I looked up the wrong part number because this could work. Not sure how I screwed that up but whatever this may do it

When I’ve used this exact box as intended (input and output) it has issues on my truck. When using turn signals, it flashes both tail lights. Brake lights work, and turn signals work when brakes are applied but when running lights are on, both tails flash when a turn signal is on. So there’s something wonky with how this box works. I don’t know if it would work better in the application we are discussing which basically is reversing its intended use...but I’d be willing to try.

Understood. Maybe the 3rd brake lamp circuit can become the source that feeds your housings.

Good idea! That’s perfect. Third brake light feeds to brake housings, mirror turn signals feed the turn signal housings and boom.
