In a minor accident steel is a winner though, less damage and cheaper repairs.

That IIHS Small-Offset test is a doozie. It's specifically designed to miss the frame rail on SUVs and compacts, because cars are built to pass the NHTSA test, which is offset to the point of the frame rail.

Looks like it missed it on the F-150 here too, which surprises me. Even a steel-body vehicle in that test gets shredded, though. Many people react to a crash situation with steering to avoid the crash and a full-frontal crash turns into a small-offset one like that and is actually made much worse, hence this test.

thanks guys for the comments, ill try to snap some interior pics later today as the wife drove it to work, its her daily driver. we may be selling the wheels...we aren't big fans of the polished chrome or the 22" size but they came on it with our limited trim.

Yeah I don’t have a problem with them either but there are differing opinions in this thread, which I don’t mind either.
