Hello, great write up. Do you have a full parts and tool listing for this job? Also, is welding necessary for this job?

At risk of waking up this old thread, I wonder if replacing just the lower 1/4 or 1/3 of the radiator bracket is a workable fix? slice off above the rust and lap the new piece in and weld?

That’s a great question! Looks like I’ll be replacing the engine on my ‘03 EB, and my radiator support bracket is toast too. So I’ll need to address it. But like you mentioned, if just the lower rusted out portion could be replaced - albeit with more than just spot welds - seems like a huge time saver overall. Anyone been successful with that approach?

If I was to do it again this is the approach I would take - just replace the cross member either by cutting up a new sheet metal radiator shroud or bending up some raw sheet metal to the correct shape.

I ended up buying, what is likely the last NOS OEM radiator support from a dealer 1800 miles away and intend to have the entire piece replaced by a body shop.
