Looks like that's the stop for the bump stop. One option would be to cut off the rusted part and weld a couple of correctly shaped pieces of plate across the bottom to get you back to the correct surface height. Others may have a better/easier suggestion.

Thanks Bob, I am hoping someone has a easier fix, lol. I dont know how to weld or what plate to use. I would have to find someone who is able to do that and know what kind of plate to use.

Ha ha... yea, I don't know how to weld either! Perhaps you could cut the bottom off and shove something into it like a capped metal pipe or something. Really just need something solid for the bump stop to hit.

What part broke loose? I crawled around mine about an hour back, I saw the upper control arm that could have broken a weld, but nothing else.

How did you make out with this? Nope your all set if not you could try this. Up to you GOOD LUCK.

Previous options are good as well. These are more labor consuming. No money and time is on your side go for it.

It's a PIA job... I know you want the easy and cost-effective way out. These are time-consuming but may save you labor hours with a welding shop. Only If you have a Tape measure, camera, a grinder with cutting wheels, and maybe a Sawsall.

WARNING ATTEMPT AT YOUR OWN RISK

OPTION 1
1) Go to a junkyard cut the bottom stop cap off with a cordless grinder or sawsall or have a Junkyard cut one off for you.
2) Get your grinder and get to work. Just grind off the material off flush to the top of the cap.
3) Cut your bump stop cap off your truck below the top of it.
You want to grind up to it. If you cut above the cap weld then the stop will be higher than it should be.
4) Test fitting your part as you go start grinding
5) Once your all set bring everything to a welding shop.

OPTION 2

!) Take pictures.
2) Take measurements everywhere, from point to point.
3) Have a Junkyard completely cut one of a frame with some of the surrounding frame material, the closer the better. You want them to melt cut or weaken the part you want.
4) Get your grinder and get to work. DO NOT grind off too much material off the stop your just grinding the stop off the frame.
5) Cut your bump stop off your truck flush to the frame. WARNING: DO CUT TOWARDS OR INTO THE FRAME
6) Test fitting your part as you go Start grinding the old weld and remaining metal flush off your frame.
7) Once your all set bring everything to a welding shop.

OPTION 3 (most difficult)
this option will require a lot of test fitting and time. It will give you the correct stop though.
1) Go to a junkyard cut the bottom stop cap off with a cordless grinder or sawsall or have a Junkyard cut one off for you.
2) Both the following steps should be done at the same time a lot of test fitting.
3) Cut your bump off your truck at its lowest point so you can see up inside. You want to be able to see how much material to grind down so that the stop cap will slide on test fitting as you go. You could also just grind down to where you think you should stop as well.
4) Grind off the material flush inside the cap test fitting as you go. THIS WILL PROVE DIFFICULT
5) Once your all test fitting is done bring everything to a welding shop.

GOOD LUCK
