Hello Forum, my name is Bryan and I recently purchased an 08 expedition. I previously owned a 97 1st edition Eddie Bauer and had to retire her after 20 years. This (new to me) expedition has been giving me problems with the air suspension. The passenger side sags after about 3 days of no driving so I figured it was the air bag. I replaced the airbag and the problem persists so I replaced the compressor and the solenoid on the passenger air bag and the problem still persists!!! So I took the SUV to Ford and they told me to replace the whole system airbag, compressor, solenoid and lines and they quoted me $1600 and that's just with one airbag!!!

Long story short, I replaced both airbags and struts from Suncore today and now the compressor will not cut on. I did disconnect the battery and disabled the air suspension system before I jacked the SUV up. Any ideas on what could be wrong? I doubt the compressor is bad being only a week old and it was working fine. Please help I am desperate here!! Oh, and thanks Gixer2000 for your reply to my private conversation and suggesting that I open the conversation to all. I am new to the forum world and this is my 2nd reply!!

Check the fuse(s) first. If they are good it is time for a wiring diagram and test light or dmm.

I checked the 2 fuses to the air suspension and they both are good also checked the continuity with a digital meter. The one relay looks like it has been changed it is a different grey than the other relays. But I am not sure how to test a relay. Any pointers on how to test a relay?

If your air springs worked before replacing compressor and bags, as Stamp stated you lost power or connection. You need to first check any fuses/relays, then pull electrical plugs to compressor and or air springs. My guess, and its a guess you bent a pin or have corrosion, that's messing with you. I had two Lincoln's with air springs that either worked or didn't. By the way unless Suncore improved quality control over the past 5 years, their products are trash. If you read any of my earlier posts, you'll read my disgust. Anyhoo back to your problem you'll need schematics, and know how to interpret them. Bedrck and stamp may help there, that's their forte! Me not so much.

Swap another relay next to it that's same pin configuration. No need to buy one when you have 4 or more to swap!

Thanks all, I appreciate your responses. This is my second attempt to use airbags purchased online. My first set did not work out and I am still battling the seller on getting my money back so I went ahead and purchased the suncore set that had struts now I am really feeling bad because of your statement about them. Who would you recommend for struts and bags.

Oem Ford is always your best bet, but pricey. Your bags aren't your problem. Your compressor is not kicking on. The chances of a faulty compressor is slim. My bags from suncore worked for over 6 months, then started leaking. You just need to figure out why you lost power/ ground. If you suspect the new compressor swap in your old one, after confirmation of power to it. Let us know your findings, I'm guessing simple problem.

Update, I tested the relay to the air suspension and it opens and closes when voltage is applied. I did disconnect the power to the compressor from the truck and applied power directly to the compressor and it came on. I did not see any lift from the new air bags though. I did put a test light on the 4 leads from the wires from the truck and got no light. Like I said before the 2 fuses tested good and so did the relay. Any other ideas? I can't figure out how to upload pics I click on the picture icon and it asks for a URL not a location on my PC.
