So i have noticed my 03 Eddie Bauer the red seems to be fading. I have seen a few on the road same red paint as mine but some of the body panels look to be a pinkish color. Is there something i can do to avoid having a pink or half pink expedition? Anyone have a solution to this

My guess is it's probably not the red but the clearcoat giving it a flat faded look. I'm going to say polish it then wax.... polishing it will add the gloss back making the red appear glossy and darker.

I have a red 03 EB and with the same problem. The hood is the worst. It has a mottled appearance. I tried compounding and waxing but it didn't solve the problem. I think painting is the only way to fix the issue. Our trucks has a tri color paint and it would cost big bucks too paint. I'm living with it. If you find anything that helps let me know.

You have to make sure to compound, polish, then wax if you buff it out. If you skip the polish that's the biggest part. When I had my Bubbling wheel well fixed recently they cut it out and replaced it then painted. They had to wet sand after to blend the paint.... after wet sanding it looked like how you describe..... pink. The only thing that brought the vibrant darker red back out was the polish, the wax just protects it and holds the color in afterward, won't add any. In fact you can't even tell the work was done...... the polish brought it from pink to factory red again. That's why I'm recommending that here because I basically had the same situation just purposefully. I've always like Meguiars not sure what they used.

I did compound and then polished. It still had the uneven appearance. What year is your Expy?

Nothing. I'm also a second generation owner 03 EB. I believe mine is faded from the sun. Thought I would ask the year to see how much sun exposure yours had. I now see it's a 2007. Don't be so defensive.
