Guys, I bought my son an '07 Limited after he wrecked our ol faithful '01 EB. This thing is out of a time warp, not a scratch anywhere. However, the front oval emblem is all silver and has a dent in it. How hard is to get that thing off and can someone let me know how? The replacements seem to be a combo stick on with 3m tape and pins that have little caps to keep them locked in place. Can someone let me know what steps to R&R? Thank you!

There are 2 "speed nuts", 10mm I believe, on two posts holding the emblem onto the grille. That year of Ford emblems and those near it all tend to fade out into silver. I replaced mine with one from a 2014 Explorer. Same exact emblem.

You will need to break off the stud that those nuts sit on because of the way it fits through the emblem mount. See my link above for where to break them to remove emblem

No you dont

Remove nuts with a socket, think it's 10 or 12mm

Then use a vinyl prybar and pry up gently and pop it out

New emblems on Amazon are like 14 bucks afair

Yes you do. The two posts have a notch cut into them tht holds the emblem onto the larger mount. Even new emblems have the notch so yes you will have to break the posts. You cannot pry the emblem out
