Btw, I don’t think it applies here because you’re talking very little offset, but putting your tire out further from your axle/bearing does indeed increase the stress on the bearing because of leverage. Research it a little online and you’ll find much more scientific explanations than that, but yeah, it is a thing.

Roger that! I just want to sneak them out a little, sounds like that is pretty safe.

I have "BORA" 1.25" spacers on my '13 F150. Ran them on the Expedition for a year before that.

Perfect. I will look into them! Thank you!

Step one is complete: the leveling kit. The stance improvement is crazy good. As you can see from the back, spacers would help a lot. 275 65 20s will have the same section width as these, and it will look a little less like a baby horse tall and skinny with a slight width improvement. IMHO. Thoughts? ffa577804685f1de425c9674b75644ad.jpgcafd8863b58bbdffa9fb18016b180738.jpg

I have a 2012 Expedition EL that has m14x2.0 lug nuts.

I was due for new tires when I found a guy selling brand new 20” OEM takeoffs from his 2017 Ford. Military base and everyone (really, everyone) gets aftermarket rims, so he was dumping these. Brand new tires and 20”s, which I was secretly coveting. Solved my new tire problem and sold my 18”s.

The catch was this, the lug nuts that came with it were m14x1.5. That didn’t match my studs. I reused the old lug nuts and they stuck out past the rim. Different styling. Looked half retarded with 2 inches of lug nuts sticking out on these beautiful newer rims.

I searched all over the internet to find shorter ones but they don’t exist. My solution? Bought 3/4” wheel spacers with m14x1.5 studs and used m14x2.0 nuts to fasten then to the hub. Now I can have the nice SS shirt lugnuts in the new rims.

Pushes the wheel out a bit but actually looks pretty damn good. Durability has been excellent- zero problems. Handling is the same. I tow a 6,000 lb boat on a regular basis. Made the trip from Ft. Bragg, NC to Lake Powell (Page, AZ) dragging the boat with zero problems, handled fine and consumed an unbelievable amount of gas.

Yes, spacers are okay and will hold up. I purchased a quality set from Bora and have used the for the last 35k Miles.

Since you asked, IMO 275mm tires are too skinny regardless of the aspect ratio. A 285/55/20 looks much better and a 305/55/20 tire is my choice.

Do you guys think with regard to height that there is any appreciable difference to the naked eye between the 275 65 20 at 34.1" and the 285 55 20 at 33.5"? I am tempted to go with the latter--which takes these Falkens out fo the running sadly and probably leads me to G2 Terra Grapplers or Ridge Grapplers.

There is also such a thing from Nitto as a 285 65 20 which is 34.6", which makes me wonder if this will stuff the wheel well too much for my liking.

DAMN this is hard without seeing them on.

I’ve got 35/11.50/20 on mine with a 3/2 lift. The lift pulls the tires in to the wheel wells due to geometry. 11.50 is as wide as you can go on OEM offsets without rubbing. Looking into spacers/adapters myself bc they are about 1/2” off from being flush with the widest part of the fender flares. Not a whole lot of room for moving them out with the electric running boards and them being 35s

Do you have a pic?

I also wonder if my OEM wheel studs will work properly with spacers.....not sure if I have the 20 or the shorter studs.
