Draining the fuel tank on 16 Expedition

My fuel pump has gone out on my 16 (codes P008A, 00C6 and 0627) and I need to drop the fuel tank but it has at least 20 gallons of fuel in it. Is there a way for me to get this out with a failed pump. I have tried to siphon but there is the check valve I have not been able to get around.

I am pretty sure the anti siphon valve is in the fill pipe. Can you remove the hose connecting the fill to the tank? Then stick a hose directly into the tank to siphon/drain? I was able to do this on my 05 when I replaced the pump. Not sure if anything has changed. I don't crawl under my 17 all that often. How many miles on your truck?

I have 108,000 on my truck. I plan on getting all 4 corners up on jack stands sometime today then hopefully I can get a better look but the fill hose is a possibility.

I'd personally be VERY surprised to have a pump go on a 4 year old vehicle with that mileage. Those codes speak to low pressure as well as an open control circuit. Do these trucks have a driver module? I'm not sure, but something to research before you dig in and change an otherwise good pump.

Yes, it does have a driver module but that has been changed with no effect.

Thanks Boose. I pulled the fill tube at the tank then was able to siphon almost all of the fuel out.

It was the pump. When I got the old one out and put a meter on it the motor had no continuity. New Motorcraft pump is installed and everything is good in the world.
