    I would not recommend you do that. Buy the OEM fluid and avoid problems, in the long run there is nothing cheaper.

    After you think the problem has been fixed pull up the plastic trim below the drivers door and the passenger door. It is about 24" long and just pulls off. After driving in a good rain storm have a look in there. If there is water you still have a problem. If it's dry you're okay.

    Lean Misfire

    Thanks. I knew it couldn't be cheap. It's much better in the warm weather, I'll have to do it in November. maybe my OBDII will show a misfire. I can't even see the spark plugs, so I'm sure this won't be easy to fix myself.

    My 2001 4.6 seems to have a misfire under light acceleration, I feel it on small inclines with the cruise engaged, and around town under light acceleration. I have no fault light. I am thinking mass air or a bad spark plug. (The vehicle has 80,000 miles on the original plugs.) Any suggestions?

    My understanding is that power flushing is BS. Theyy don't want to take the tranny cover off and change the filter, this leads to too many leaks. Go to a reliable tranny shop and have the fluid and filter changed.
