Alleged 2013 info from factory worker - confirm?

Thermo, that's a good point. What works in one of the top-selling vehicles in the world might not be economical for a vehicle that sells like the Expy does. Good thinking. Clydesdale, I've heard good things about the Durango, but I'm pretty soured on Dodge and Jeep vehicles both because for...

Alleged 2013 info from factory worker - confirm?

That's a good point. Empty, seems like they'd be pretty equal, but loaded to the max I think the Expy would still be fine if the F-150 is.

Alleged 2013 info from factory worker - confirm?

I just found it. F-150 Supercrew 4x4 (6 1/2 foot bed) weighs about 40 lbs more than an Expedition (regular length) 4x4. Meanwhile, the Expedition EL 4x4 weighs in 416 lbs more than the F-150 4x4. Ecoboost would be a cool engine at least in the regular wheelbase Expy :)

Alleged 2013 info from factory worker - confirm?

How much heavier is the Expy than the F-150? I couldn't find the info on fors.com.

Alleged 2013 info from factory worker - confirm?

A couple of great ideas there. First, I think the Expy should be an F-150 with a different back. It's the 3rd row seat I'm after. I'd even buy an F-150 Expedition (like the old F-150 Rangers). Or call it the EX-150 for all I care :) Also, an Ecoboost V6 in an Expedition sounds like a...

Alleged 2013 info from factory worker - confirm?

You're right, and I checked for the Suburban's sales and they showed the same pattern. Though both had a slight uptick in 2010... maybe there's hope for the big SUVs after all? I'd hate to see the Expy go the way of the Excursion :(

Alleged 2013 info from factory worker - confirm?

Originally I heard Ford was planning on a slight refresh for the 2013 model year, but today someone at a dealership who says he's in touch with a factory worker (not sure if that's true or not) who told him the 2013 will be a straight carryover from 2012. I've been looking for information...

Max AC = cold, all others = hot

Yep, it blows really, really hot air with the AC button on. Not like, outside air that's gone past the engine and warmed up a little, but like "this is burning my hand!" hot air.

Max AC = cold, all others = hot

So... yeah. I turned on the AC and it blew hot air on all settings except Max AC. Any ideas?

No crap??? Wow, I'll have to ask about that.

    My troubles have been diagnosed...

Picked the truck up today and I must admit, it drives really, really well now. I can actually make it up hills without needing my hazards on! Next stop! Getting rid of that smoke smell.

    My troubles have been diagnosed...

So I brought the truck into the shop because it was hesitating at 1500 rpm unless I had the cruise on. I expected it was going to be a COP and plug, as many on here predicted. They did the diagnostics and told me that wasn't the problem. There was some little part way in the back of the...

Why it's good to have a truck in a wreck...

I was rear-ended by a 17-year old girl driving her mom's brand-new Jetta. The front of her car was virtually gone. There were pieces of her radiator twenty yards in front of my truck. It bent my bumper down a little, but her car was completely totalled. Her airbags also didn't deploy. She...

    Remember the Expedition Himilaya

Yeah, it sort of does. But this one has a blue oval on the front ;)

    Remember the Expedition Himilaya

Yeah, I can see that too. I wish the Sport Trac was this big and capable though.

    Remember the Expedition Himilaya

Who else remembers this thing? I wish there'd been a production model for the 2003 - 2006 model years, or for the 2007 - current ones. I'm not a big fan of the Pontiac-like plastic siding, but those fender flares looked nice...

Unlimited money: what mods for offroading?

Title says it all. If you had unlimited money (or let's say parts are free), what would you do to a stock expedition (2003 - 2006 model, or whatever) to make it off-road capable? What shocks? What brakes? What lights? What engine mods? Be as specific as you like. I'm interested in...

Expedition + RAPTOR Package = win

Just a dream. Wouldn't it be cool though, if Ford made an Expedition that followed in the footsteps of the F-150 RAPTOR? It'll never happen... it's a people hauler, not a Baja machine, but one can dream...

    Adding a Keyless Entry Keypad?

Wow, cool find man. Thanks. No, I haven't called the dealership. I don't entirely trust them after some poor service I received a while back. Thanks again!

    Adding a Keyless Entry Keypad?

Is it possible to add a keyless entry keypad to a 2005 Expedition? Unfortunately mine doesn't have one and I'm notorious for locking my keys in the vehicle (my F150 that I sold had they keypad so this was no problem). I know there're those Hide-a-Key boxes but I'm sure car theives look for...

    POLL: Which engine & 4x2 or 4x4?

My days of owning 4x2s are over. I never know where I'm going to be stationed next and in case there's snow, I need 4x4. Plus I like the 5.4. If I could buy a new one, like an 09 or 10 model year, it would be this exact set-up (even if a smaller engine was still offered). Or I may wait and...

    Expy Problem

Went to Kragan and Autozone, the two big places in town. Both declined to read it (free or otherwise), so then I found this little hole in the wall shop. Guy did it for free, but there were no error codes found. He said I needed a tune up, and that the likely cause was a miss in one of the...
