Looking to do an engine swap
I have a '99 EB with the 5.4. Well it had a 5.4 until it spun 3 rod bearings and 2 main bearings. I have found a few 5.4's in junkyards but everyone wants way too much for one with twice the miles mine had. I am thinking of doing an engine swap using a 302, 351W, or a 460. My '99 EB on 285/75/17 Toyos
Pic of my '99 EB with 285/75/17 Toyo Open Country A/T. No lift, just removed the running boards. And if you look close........you can see a floor jack, jack stand, and the driveshaft unhooked from the rear diff. That s what happens when you lock up your 5.4!!! :shootout:- wrangler45337

5.4 Engine Noise
I have a 1999 Eddie Bauer with the 5.4. Here recently it has been developing a noise that sounds like it is coming from the lifter valley. It starts at about 2,500 RPM and goes to about 4,500 RPM.
