Not starting the year out that great...
My 2002 XLT has been very needy lately. December I blew a plug out, middle of the night in BFE. Threads were stripped right out. The only part store open just sold 2 to the same guy the day before so I was out of luck. So glad I bought a Focus for the wife 2 weeks before this. Came down the next...- hardlife

Adding Center Console or Seat to First Row. 3rd Gen.
I too just bought a 08 that was once Homeland Security fleet. I picked up a console from a salvage yard ($100)and started looking to install it today. Seems there is some mount that the console bolts to that I do not have. I'll call the place next week to see if I can get that. I'd love a... -
A constant leaning experience...
I have 2002 XLT and I love this truck for many reasons. It laughs at snow, hauls my entire family, feels great driving, and lastly teaches me new skills on a sometimes back to back basis. Within the last 60 days my rear brake lines rotted out, starter died, exhaust after the muffler...- hardlife

02 XLT 4X4, 86,000 Rat chew through the intake filter, long horizontal hole in muffler, two broken studs with leake on manifold, rear wiper not working, washer fluid shower at tailgate when attempted. Private sale $6,700.most fixed. Love this dramn truck. Does everything I ask of it.- hardlife

Latch for 1st gen. 2nd gen seats?
Was wondering if anyone knew if 2nd gen seats would work in 1st gen Expy XLT. Wife keeps bugging me about the latch fittings or at least the shoulder belt. Tempted to make up a kit but that gets rather involved. Thanks.- hardlife

Replace factory VCR with DVD
It depends on what you mean by "Work". I had to cut into the old harness and splice the video lines together. Also I used a DVD head unit so I had to run a wire back from the dash to the console. It can be done.- hardlife

Pioneer AVH4200DVD player
I installed that very unit in my 02. Had to cut out the divider between the bottom of the din and the comfort controls. I unscrewed the metal braket and had to trim the useless plastic at the back that ramps down. It fits, but just. Good luck!- hardlife
