I had great success with seafoam. Changed mine at 133,000 (hadnt been changed before!) ran a can of seafoam in the gas and crankcase (helps clean the vct solenoid) And another can i kept running it through the brake booster per directions till it was gone. I think i ended up doing that 4 times...
If its off its because some teeth broke off the gears and there is no fixing that. Have to get a new actuator. 35 bucks at the parts store.
Had this problem with the rear vent/floor actuator on my 05. Just made it open to the vents and unplugged it!
Are you sure its the motor? 2nd gens have an issue where the metal for the wiper stud and the housing corrodes and gets dirty keeping the wiper arm from moving.
I had the same issue with my 05. Took it apart, cleaned and greased it and its worked fine ever since!

Well i have put like 25,000 mile on the Expy and havent had any big problems! Had a miss and got all 8 coils covered under warranty because a new kid messed up! Should have been covered cause its electrical.
Had all 8 plugs replaced about 135,000, before i took it in i gave it the seafoam...
Well been away for some time dealing with LIFE! Sometimes i wish i was old enough to retire!
Still working (thank god!) But i comes with a lot of hours!

Im having the same problem with the Expy i have now and the 97 i had. Dont know alot but what i do know is that there is a TCC (Torque Converter Clutch) solenoid on the valve body that could be going out.

I got both BWP. I dont think brand matters. BWP is cheeper than Motorcraft.
Then again i never have had ANY luck with Oreily parts! It was the closest at the time!
